Married to the actress Victoria Donovan. He turned professional in 1996 when, with no formal training, landed a role in the critically acclaimed, West End revival of "Jesus Christ Superstar" in London. Die Another Day, Gangs Of New York, Les Miserables and The Dark Night are some of the blockbuster movies in which he has appeared. Has featured in a number of Independent feature films of critical acclaim, including as Chae Strachan in Sunset Song, directed by the iconic Terence Davies, and Tommy's Honour, which won best film at The Scottish BAFTA's in 2017, directed by Jason Connery.
